I am a resident of Beaumont, Texas, and have been a vegan, atheist, and libertarian for the majority of my adult life. There are other words that define my being, but this is the triad with which I am most comfortable identifying myself. They describe my lifestyle, my theology, my philosophy, and my politics, with a lot of overlap inbetween.
I am a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in history at Lamar University. I have yet to decide on my primary research interest, but at the moment I am studying Colonial Latin America.
Colonial Latin America? Really? Which grade do you want to teach when you start teaching? Congratulations on being a dad.
Yeah, I was really into Colonial Latin America when I wrote this at least. I’ve been out of school since January when I moved to Austin. I’m going to be substitute teaching this fall with pre-K through 12th grade students, at least until I find full-time employment. I want to go back to school, but I’m not sure when.
Yes, I’m going to be a dad. Thanks for the congrats. The percentage of vegans just went up slightly.
